The 1st Fusiliers  football team will play Jack Whitehall and a team of select celebrities in a charity football match to commemorate both the end of the First World War and Fusilier 50.  The match will reflect the football matches that were played at Christmas 1914 between British and German soldiers.  They never happened again.

The game will be played at Rosslyn park in Roehampton on the 23 December 2018, with kick off approximately 1430 after a pre-match ceremony. The broadcaster David Hamilton is set to commentate.

The following guests will be invited:

  • The Col of the Regt
  • A Grandson of one of the Soldiers that played in the actual 1914 game.
  • A senior member of the Defence Attache staff of the German Embassy

Tickets will cost £10 for Adults and £8 for children aged 12 and under.  Rosslyn Park has its own club house bar which will be serving food and drink.
