Second Fusilier mementoes wanted by Fusilier Museum (Warwick)
Can you help the Fusilier Museum (Warwick) by loaning them your mementoes of the Second Fusiliers for a temporary display at the Museum in St John’s House, Warwick ?
The special display will start in mid September and go to the end of October to coincide with the laying up of the 2nd Battalion’s Colours in St Mary’s Church in Warwick on the Sunday 9th October.
Stephanie Bennett, Curator, said ‘We’re lucky enough to have been given many of the 2nd Battalion photo albums, but I’d like to be able to show visitors some objects relating to the Battalion as well; hence the appeal to people in the area. I think that it’s important to remember the historic link the 2nd Battalion has with Warwickshire.’
When the Fusiliers were created in 1968, the Royal Warwickshire Fusiliers became the 2nd Battalion. This preserved the connection with the region that had started with the Royal Warwickshire Regiment in 1782.
If you can help, please email Stephanie or call her on 01926 491653.
